A finished exterior can tell you about color and texture. It tells you much less about how the repair was planned. When comparing stucco contractors, use the portfolio to start a conversation about the work behind the surface.
Find a project with a similar challenge
Look for comparable building height, narrow access, window details, or balcony connections. A ground-floor patch is a different planning exercise from a repair above a third-story garage. Similar conditions make the contractor's explanation more relevant to your property.
Ask what the intermediate photographs show
Useful sequences can include protection, opened wall areas, underlying materials, and the return to the exterior finish. Ask which parts of the work were performed by the contractor and what happened outside the photographs. Images alone do not establish that every concealed detail was completed correctly.
Discuss the finish honestly
Texture, lighting, and the age of the existing coating affect how a repair looks. Ask whether a sample area is included and whether painting will stop at the patch, an architectural break, or the full elevation. Be cautious about assuming every repair can become invisible from every viewing angle.
